A message from Sam

Sam Hajar with his wife and three children

The Hajar family · 20 years in Ward 7

I've spent more than 25 years working inside City Hall, most recently as Business and Zoning Coordinator. I know exactly how things work, and I know where they can work better.

I approved building permits, sign permits, and pool permits. I interpreted 25 different bylaws and answered the public's zoning questions, year after year. When your application sits for months, I don't have to guess where it's stuck. I've seen it from the inside.

I served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Police Officer. My wife and I have raised our three kids here in Ward 7, and we run our businesses here. This ward is where our whole life happens, and I want it to work as well for your family as it has for mine.

There is entirely too much red tape at City Hall, and there's no need for it. That's what "Raise the Bar" means to me: a council that works as one and delivers. I'd be honoured to have your vote on October 26.
